Hi, my name is Jenny. I am the Youth Now Farm manager.
I have been working with youth since 1973 in many capacities and within the child welfare, children’s mental health and youth justice sectors.
In 1973 I was employed at a youth ranch where I was able to take my own horse as well as work with the ranch horses and youth. Since then I have dreamed of a farm setting close to the city where youth could learn more about themselves and their personal road to success in life through interacting with animals and agriculture.
I am excited about the possibilities that the Youth Now Farm can offer youth and young adults who need an alternative setting to thrive and realize their own dreams.
I am an experienced and passionate vegetable gardener, with a newfound excitement for growing perennial flowers. I am interested in the transformational experience of soil, sprouting seeds and growing your own food, especially for youth. I have been working with children and youth throughout my life, most recently at a forest school in the Gatineau Hills. I am excited to be working with Youth Now as a market gardener to share my passion and sprout some seeds with the Ottawa community.
